Paradise for Nature Lovers

Kung Wiman is a paradise for nature lovers with bush walks, swimming, snorkeling, and gentle rolling hills, ideal for running or cycling, with views of the sea, rubber plantations, salt farms, markets, orchards and fishing villages. You can kayak through the mangroves, explore the islands and bays with the local fishermen, visit the royal marine sanctuaries including the turtle sanctuary of Ko Man, or take a boat trip to Laem Singh, where King Taksin built his fleet to liberate Thailand, where you can also see local women weaving the famous Chanthaburi mats.

Chanthaburi is famous for its gemstone industry, particularly rubies and sapphires and on Saturday mornings traders from all over the world come to its gemstone markets. Other interesting local markets include the border market with Cambodia, craft markets and local fresh food markets.

The nearby Cardamom mountains named after the cardamom trees which grow there make up Southeast Asias last great wilderness. The mountains straddle the Thai Cambodian border and on the Thai side you can visit Kao Soi Doi, Kao Kitjagut (a holy mountain which is only open to the public in February, March and April), Kao Chamao, Kao Wong and Kao Sukim.

Other day trips include the King Taksin monument, and monkey cave. We can arrange tours to suit your interest.
